I’m a content strategist, editor, writer, and engineer.

I work to tell stories of complex science simply.

Upcoming Book:

My debut narrative nonfiction book will be published by Seven Dials, an Orion Publishing Group imprint, in 2026. Entirely based on original reporting, it tells the stories of the women who, in present-day India, helped send a rocket to Mars for less than it cost to make The Martian. Read more about it on The Bookseller.

In September 2019, I was awarded a grant for this ongoing project from the Society of Authors, UK.

Content Strategy and Editorial Consultancy:

Although my background is in engineering, I have been working as a consultant content strategist and editor since 2017. My clients have included Ginkgo Bioworks, Pipe Technologies, Stripe Inc., for large-scale science and technology storytelling projects.

For Ginkgo Bioworks, I’m establishing a nonfiction publishing project that will invite readers to the unfolding story of synthetic biology.

At Stripe, I was editor for Stripe Press and Increment magazine. For Press, I worked to discover bold science manuscripts and proposals, and bring them through to publication. For Increment, I established a new vertical that published stories of technological impact and innovation in underrepresented communities.

For Pipe, I took ownership of a product and engineering storytelling project, bringing it from idea to strategy, production, and (now near!) launch.

Select Narrative Nonfiction Writing:

I believe character driven, narrative storytelling is a powerful tool through which wide readerships can be introduced to just about any science or technology concept that is large, complex, or abstract. For my freelance writing, I am particularly interested in pieces that can invite people into such subjects with grace. Some samples:
